Vermeulen Farms

Canning, NS

Vermeulen Farms began their growing their asparagus on a one acre field in 1999, the following year they expanded it to 15 acres, allowing them to complete their first harvest in 2001.To this day, they continue to harvest the same plants but now an additional 60 acres have been added to expand their production. Now it takes a team of 55 farmers to keep up with the daily harvest as asparagus grows so quickly!
