Vermeulen Farms began their growing their asparagus on a one acre field in 1999, the following year they expanded it to 15 acres, allowing them to complete their first harvest in 2001.To this day, they continue to harvest the same plants but now an additional 60 acres have been added to expand their production. Now it takes a team of 55 farmers to keep up with the daily harvest as asparagus grows so quickly!

Formed in 1970, Randsland Farms is a family-owned and operated farm based in the Annapolis Valley. After deciding to specialize in broccoli in the mid-1980s, they soon became the primary producers for the Atlantic region. Since then, they have diversified their crops and, in 2016, expanded to bagging their own produce. They are one of the few farms that are both the producer and processor for prepared salad kits.
